Ensuring strong governance

Become an Apex Trustee.

Information for applicants to the Board of Trustees of Apex Charitable Trust

Thank you for your interest in joining Apex Charitable Trust's Board of Trustees.

To give you the necessary information relating to our work and plans, the Trustee role and how you will be supported as a new Trustee, I have put together a set of information for you to download from the links on the right of this page.

Here you will find details of:

  1. Apex Charitable Trust's mission, vision and charitable objects

  2. The Trustee induction pack including information on the role of the Trustee

  3. Additional information and links to others areas of our website detailing who we are and what we do.

The Nomination Process

The role of Trustee is crucial in ensuring strong governance and the clear strategic direction for the charity. The charity has undergone considerable change in recent years and has refocused its activities to work with offenders in the Merseyside.

The Board is recruiting additional Trustees from the Merseyside region who will strengthen the Board's mix of skills, expertise and diversity, contribute enthusiastically and embrace the highest standards of Conduct. We are keen to hear from anyone with a background in finance/accounts.

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee and wish to speak to someone informally, please contact myself Kim Hughes - Chief Executive (email at k.hughes3@apextrust.com or M: 07795 832045) in the first instance.

Trustees generally meet 6 times a year. Trustees' expenses for travel to Board meetings are paid, but the role itself is without remuneration.

Yours sincerely,
Kim Hughes
Chief Officer
